On Friday I went again to see the Sufi's in Omderman. I really enjoy this because it is a place where people dance and play live drums. The dancing is supposed to be for men only but when I was there there were some children including little girls where dancing along the edges of the circle. Most of the women were at the outscirts of the circle as the picture shows. At one moment a woman was taken by the sprit and was whirling in the middle of the cirlce. It was something else to see. She was throwing off her toab and grabbing at the mens clothing on the inside. The had to subdue her and bring her out of the circle.
I also befriended a little girl who was excited to speak the few English words she knew with us. Its a tourist friendly space so taking pictures is easy and welcomed.
On another note right now in my neighborhool there are water outages so we have a water truck that comes all the time to fill our tank. I feel very lucky and thankful as the days are always above 100 and many of our neighbors are with out water.
Speaking of the weather it is actually cooler than it was last year at this time...like 102 instead of 116. But that makes a difference and Im happy for it!
