Getting use to the time change

Around 5 am in the morning is the first call to prayer. Over a loud speaker there is a prayer spoken and sung for about 2o min. How powerful is that to be present when millions of people are praying at the same time. It feels peaceful...
So i finally got some sleep and i'm feeling more grounded.
We drove around the city yesterday and went to a home store to get a few things. We saw the Blue Nile which is filled to the brim at this time of year-the end of the rainy season.
Sudanese people are very friendly and patient. I've learned a few arabic words - Sho-kran- thank you and En -Sha-Allah- God willing. Something folks say  a lot of...See you later- En-Sha-Allah...
Everything is God willing.
THe women have these beautiful scarfs that they drape all over their bodies when they go out...i want to learn how to do it myslef. Its one long piece of fabric and the colors and patterns are so vibrant.
Ill try and get a picture of it today.
It is hot-but the last few days its rained and so the mornings have been a cool 89 degrees. By the heat of the day its well into the 100's.  But I've been spolied and in an AC house or an AC bus..so I feel I haven't experienced the heat yet.
The food is good. I had hummus and pita and really good chicken, eggplant, cucumbers and mango juice..there are plenty of good fruits...grapefruit, grapes, peaces etc.
so I go to school today...Yeah! I'm about to head there now.
I'll be sure to post some pics from my day today.
Shout outs to my Kling-0n Cohort...missed you all the last day.

my parents found the call to prayer early in the morning kind of peaceful as well (they lived in iran). again, thanks for letting us live vicariously abroad through your blog. i can't wait to see some pics of the women's dress. enjoy the "cool" weather.

In no time at all one will have a difficult time telling you apart from the locals - well, okay maybe your mohawk will give you away. Like debi, I really can't wait to see the women in their dress. It sounds practical and beautiful, protective and graceful. Can't wait to see picts of your classroom & school. Mango juice, yummy!!
