Camel Market

Yesterday a group of us from school went to a Camel Market. In actuality it was more like an animal market. We drove an hour or so outside of Khartoum into an area that was pretty much all desert. Then we started seeing large herds of animals. Cows, donkeys, goats and camels. And as we drove for 20 more minutes that was all we saw. Herds and large groups of animals and people feeding them or watching them or moving them.
We then drove to the next market in the area so we could eat some camel! It was Friday so when we got there it was just in time for prayer time. We had to wait another hour until prayer time was over. Then we bought the meat we wanted them too cook and it was cooked. It was really good. We also had goat. The camel meat was tasty. It had more fat on it than goat but that makes sense for a desert animal that often goes with out food or water for long periods of time.
